Window handle

I've got a window handle that needs replacing, I've taken the screws out of handle but the handle will not come out, I've used screwdrivers and a pry bar on it and it still won't come out. It's like there an extra fixing on it has anybody got any ideas please.

Once the screws are removed from the backplate of the handle it should just pull out. However on windows that get alot of weather or if you live near the coast, the handle spindle can rust/seize into the espagnolette lock inside the window preventing the handle from being removed. There is no easy way to release it, in the past I have used an angle grinder to cut the spindle away from the espagnolette.
