Title: Sliding door falling out
Post by: Gemma C on 15 August 2007 04:16 PM
Hi

We are having lots of fun with our sliding patio door. It is the type that tilts in to the house first then slides along. Yesterday evening when i opened the door it nearly squashed me (which amused my children). The door just continued to fall from the top.

When hubby got back he had a look at it and saw that some brown/black plastic parts in the top track had broken. He thinks that these parts hold the patio door to the track.

I hope somebody has come across this problem before.

Not heard of this problem before, Very ???.....mmmmmmmm.

I know it can be very hard getting hold of any kind of parts for the upvc tilt and sliding patio doors. Don't despair though i'm sure you won't need to get a new door.

There is a company selling parts online which you could try.

Your husband must be jealous, the door falling for you like that.

Sorry for the bad joke Gemma ;)

We had a similar sleezy door that kept trying to fall on top of my girlfreind.

As you say it's the plastic sliders that run across the top which had broken and perished.

After much hunting online and asking about generally we eventually found some at the same site jimbob suggests.
